Jenny Oates Riggs
Jenny Riggs’ dad told her, “Dream big,” and Jenny took it to heart. First, she earned a master’s degree in teaching. Then, at an obstetrician’s appointment, she heard a heartbeat and realized her second dream was to be a stay-at-home mom. Now, many years and three kids later, she’s hardly ever home. Among sports practices, grocery store stops, and playground visits, she finds joy in her daughter’s imagination, her son’s dimples, braiding her youngest’s hair, and having date nights with her man. On the weekend, Jenny likes to paint old furniture, tour museums, and worship at church. She kills every plant she touches, enjoys french fries a little too much, and visits coffeehouses for the hot chocolate. It was in a coffeehouse, sipping cocoa, that another dream came to light as she penned Remember This.

Remember This

written by Jenny Oates Riggs

During this season of giving, love, and cheer, remember the reason for this special time of year.
Remember this...
When the clouds open for winter's first snowflake,
When children with new toys run off to play,
When the table is set and the cookies are baked,
Remember that Jesus was born on this day.
During this season of giving, love, and cheer, remember the reason for this special time of year.
Everyone loves the festive trappings and traditions of Christmas, but the holiday’s Christian elements can sometimes become lost amid the celebration. "Remember This" encourages children to look for Jesus’ example and teachings in the traditions and joyful moments of the holiday season.

More About Jenny Oates Riggs
Jenny's love of books began in her childhood, when her parents would read to her. "Any kid likes one-on-one attention," Jenny says, but this time developed into a lifelong love of books. Now, Jenny reads with her own 3 kids. They have book baskets all over their house, including the seasonal one where they keep Remember This!
When asked how she started writing, Jenny answers, "It's not that I loved to write; it's that I loved stories!" From a love of reading came a love of writing. Jenny writes at a desk in her home. She adores old furniture, loves to upcycle, and repainted this piece herself! We are jealous of this awesome writing zone!
Jenny is the author of Remember This, but she's got a lot of other stuff going on, as well! Jenny is very involved in her church, which will come as no surprise to people who have read her book. She also loves to read -- go figure! -- and listen to music of all genres. Most of us can probably relate to Jenny's love of travel, and her equal but different love of coming home. She considers her home to be a "sacred space" that she nurtures and cares for.⠀
Jenny calls herself a daddy's girl, and her father always told her "Dream Big." When he died of a brain tumor, she vowed to never let fear rule her life. That's when her writing blossomed with Remember This. Next, look out for I'll See You Later, a book about a parent assuring their kid throughout life with, "I'll see you later!"⠀⠀
