Cooperative Publishing with Belle Isle Books
Whether you're new to the world of publishing or an established author, we welcome your submission! We accept work in any subject area and in all genres (fiction, nonfiction, children's, poetry), and we do not require an agent. Once we have received your manuscript, our editors will review it for potential publication and respond to you by email. Given the volume of manuscripts we receive, we generally respond within ten to twelve weeks.
We offer cooperative publishing for the experienced and novice writer, and invite submissions in fiction, non-fiction, poetry and children's books. Under our cooperative publishing arrangement, we invest a portion of the publishing costs, and the author invests the remainder. In addition to publishing our own titles, we offer a range of a la carte self publishing services to individuals, organizations, business, and other publishers. Learn more about self-publishing here. All submissions are considered for our traditional program under Brandylane Publishers. Belle Isle does not offer a traditional option.
If your book is selected for cooperative publication, we provide professional editing, copyediting, proofreading, interior and cover design, proofing, printing, ebook production, marketing and promotion, distribution, and project management. Based on the specific editorial and design requirements for your book, its marketability, and a number of other considerations, we determine production and marketing costs and invest a portion of that cost up to 75%. You will be required to invest the remainder. If we move forward with publication, we will prepare our publishing agreement, which outlines royalty, rights, and other details.
Please note that as we are a book publisher, all submissions must be of book length; we do not publish individual short stories or poems. Such works should be submitted as part of a collection.
Read the following information carefully and adhere to our guidelines when submitting your work for review.
